My family of five had a great stay in a King suite. The employees were very kind, particularly front desk clerk, Latasha. She was especially nice to my kids. Thanks Latasha!
Place is fantastic!! Super friendly staff! They greeted me before I could even get my car unpacked. There is also a weight room and a very nice pool. The beds came equipped with tons of pillows which I always appreciate when places offer more than just 3. The room I was in was very clean and well maintained. Very nice bathroom, was a home away from home.
The rooms were amazing. Very clean and spacious. Plenty of drawer and closet space. The bathroom offered all the bells and whistles that only a real "road dog" of a traveler could really appreciate. I spend a lot of time on the road and the Fairfield Inn & Suites in South Boston, VA. will always be a destination of mine going forward.
This was the kind of experience I expect from a Super 8. The room had a horrible smell like body odor. The front desk gave us some deodorizing spray, but it didn't help. The walls are so thin that's our bed wiggled every time the door was closed next door, which was often till 2 am. Asked front desk to calm them down to no avail. The breakfast area tables and floor were unclean. (I was first one down at 5:30, so it wasn't do to the morning rush.) Hot breakfast was good. Rooms are spacious.
For the area, it's the best hotel you're going to find. The rooms are clean and spacious, the complimentary breakfast is delicious, and the staff is mostly friendly. That being said, the room we had had a pretty bad smelling plant inside, and it seemed to be attempting to mask another smell. The toilet only worked properly if you take off the back lid and pull the chain and replace it by hand. The TV in the living area would only work for a few minutes at a time before the screen would freeze and turn off. If you're going to be in the area, I would recommend it, just don't set your expectations too high.
I was traveling on business and I had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Fairfield Inn & Suites in South Boston, VA. First and foremost, the staff was amazingly helpful. They welcomed and greeted us the second we walked through the door. They were quick and very helpful in describing everything the hotel had to offer. That includes the workout room, pool and the awesome complimentary breakfast the hotel offers in the morning.
Update: The hotel manager responded promptly to my feedback on the survey that they sent to me. He assured me that he had addressed the problems with the appropriate departments. He also refunded one night's stay due to the noise problem. I appreciate their attention to customer service. I am changing from 2 to 4 stars.
